Lion Air Boeing passengr plane crashes into Java Sea with 189 on board. Survivor details not known yet. Wreckage has been found in Java Sea. It has been understood that pilot who was flying the ill-fated plane was India’s Bhavye Suneja, 31 who had over 6,000 hours of flying experience.
Bhavye Suneja hailed from Mayur Vihar in Delhi and had studied at Ahlcon Public School. He had joined Lion Air in March 2011. He was assisted by co-pilot Harvino who had more than 5,000 flight hours.

As per Indonesia’s search and rescue agency’s statement the reason for crash is still unclear. According to video footage of crash scene slick of fuel is found on surface of water. Around 300+ people including soldiers, police and local fisherman have actively involved in search operations, so far only personal belongings and ID cards have been found near by aircraft debris.
