Kawasaki is planning to launch the 2019 W800 in India soon. Kawasaki W800 final edition is the next expected retro maodern bike for India. While the retro motorcycle was previously on the cards for India in 2016, it was discontinued internationally in the same year since it didn’t meet Euro-IV emission regulations. Kawasaki has reveiled a updated version of the bike at EICMA 2018 and this is the model that will make its way to our shores in the coming months.
Kawasaki is powered by air-cooled, 4-stroke vertical twin 773cc engine. It is featured with fuel injection 34mm x 2 with sub-throttles and air-cooling system. Maximum Power and Maximum Torque of bike is measured as 47.3 Bhp @ 6500 rpm and 60 Nm @ 2500 rpm. There are 2 cyclinders are present in this bike. It is featured with analog speedometer, analog tachometer, digital odometer, digital clock and also with low oil and battery indicator. Top speed of this bike is measured as 177 Kmph. Electric start features is present in this bike. It uses a 5-gearbox and rivals triumph bonneville range in the country. Expected price is about Rs. 5 lakh.
The Kawasaki W800 is does feature some modern-day feature. The headlight on the bike is an LED unit. It is also equipped with a slipper clutch and the large 320mm front disc and 270 mm rear disc come with ABS.
Two different variants of the Kawasaki W800 is sold in international markets. It is easy and safe to assume that Kawasaki will enter the classic twin-cylinder segment in India with the street. The bike is manufactured in Thailand and will come to India as a CKD.
It is worth considering that Kawasaki has pulled off very competitive pricing in the recent past for a few of it’s model, and it is going to give the pressure of competing with the new design of Royal Enfields. We expect to see the bike go on sale in the coming months.
